Like any organisation our people are, without doubt, our greatest asset. We introduce you to our leadership team here but there are many, many, more people within the company that makes it what it is today.
LEADERSHIP TEAM
Howard was formally a Lead Loss Prevention Engineer with PSN, growing their global capabilities. Prior to this Howard was General Manager of Tyco’s oil & gas division which was, at that time, the sector’s largest global fire and safety provider. He has 40 years’ direct experience within this specialist field.
Sir James Milne CBE, DL, DHC, Hon DBA, Hon FRIAS established Balmoral Group in 1980 with just five employees designing and manufacturing glass reinforced plastic products. Today, employing more than 800 people, the privately-owned company provides design and manufacturing solutions to the global subsea, energy, civil and environmental engineering sectors.
Sir James is a member of Entrepreneurial Scotland, Fellow of Prosper (formerly the Scottish Council for Development and Industry) and Chairman of the Friends of ANCHOR, a fundraising body which supports cancer care and research at Grampian University Hospitals NHS Trust.
It’s all about teamwork at Balmoral. We all have strengths and weaknesses and it is important to recognise this and work together to achieve what has to be achieved.
Whilst being an original founder of Blaze, Ann has extensive purchasing and data management experience gained through 15 years with a global operating company.
Ann has built up a strong commercial network and is on the Scottish Council of the CBI, co-chair of the Supply Chain Forum for OEUK, Board Member of YEG and co-president of the Association of Scottish Business Women.
Joined Balmoral in 1997
Previously a partner in KPMG’s Aberdeen office, Bill is a CA and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Edinburgh University. He is heavily involved in the general management of the business and oversees the company’s HSEQ structure.
Balmoral engenders a great loyalty within its workforce. This loyalty works both ways and is a huge benefit to the organisation and our clients as a whole.
Stuart is a qualified CA with extensive experience as a senior business leader in the financial services sector and latterly in energy logistics and construction engineering.
Having joined the board of trustees of Aberdeen Foyer in 2019, a charitable organisation supporting people in the north-east of Scotland towards independent living, learning and work, Stuart was appointed Non-Executive Chair in January 2022.
Joined Balmoral in 2018
Kevin is a CA and oversees the Group’s compliance function, M&A activity and participates in Board meetings of the Group’s subsidiary companies. Additionally, he is CEO of The Milne Family Foundation.
Kevin previously worked for 10 years in the energy private equity industry and prior to that was a senior corporate finance advisor with KPMG.
